Ukraine has begun refilling the “Druzhba” oil pipeline, with supplies to Slovakia expected to resume tomorrow, Slovakia’s Economy Minister Denisa Saková said on Facebook.
According to her, citing data from “Ukrtransnafta,” pressure in the pipeline started to increase this morning on the Ukrainian side of the Belarus route, along with the refilling process.
“Transportation and supplies to Slovakia are expected to resume tomorrow morning (April 23),” she stated.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had restored the damaged section of the Druzhba pipeline, which was previously hit by Russian shelling, and that it is now technically ready to operate again.
He added that the next step is up to the European Union, which, according to him, should unlock €90 billion in support for Ukraine — funds that had been blocked by Hungary and Slovakia, partly due to concerns over disruptions to oil supplies.
