Putin is expected to visit Beijing less than a week after Trump’s trip to China.
According to the South China Morning Post, the Russian leader is scheduled for a one-day visit around May 20. The trip is described as part of routine diplomatic contacts between Moscow and Beijing rather than a high-profile state event.
The report notes that the timing is notable, as China has recently hosted both U.S. and Russian leaders within the same month outside of multilateral summits — reflecting Beijing’s effort to balance relations amid global tensions.
Russian officials have not yet formally confirmed the exact dates, but said the visit will take place soon.
