Ukraine is gaining a strategic edge in modern warfare through its advanced drone technologies, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM) conference “Strategic Ark.”
According to Sybiha, Ukraine is no longer just a recipient of support but is emerging as a provider of defense solutions. He stressed that Russia’s traditional advantage in manpower is being offset by Ukraine’s use of unmanned systems across air, sea, and land domains.
“Ukrainian drone technologies are a game changer and a factor that gives us an advantage,” he said.
The minister added that Ukraine has effectively become a “security exporter,” marking a shift in its global role.
“We have become a security partner and exporter of security. This is a new reality,” Sybiha noted.
He also revealed that Kyiv is ready to pursue a “Drone Deal” with the United States and the European Union, aiming to scale up cooperation in this sector.
Sybiha further said he has collected diplomatic notes from leaders of influential countries requesting Ukraine not to strike Russian territory during official celebrations — a signal, he argued, of recognition of Ukraine’s long-range capabilities.
“Ukraine should not be underestimated. We are holding our ground and we have strong cards,” he concluded.
Earlier reports indicated that Berlin and Kyiv are planning joint development of long-range strike drones capable of reaching up to 1,500 km.
