Russia says a new round of contacts with the United States is approaching, as Moscow expects senior representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump to visit soon for talks on Ukraine.
According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, cited by Russian media, Washington remains actively engaged in the Ukrainian issue, which he said is reflected in ongoing phone contacts between Moscow and Washington.
Ushakov described the negotiation process as consistent and ongoing.
Earlier, he claimed that talks would remain stalled until Ukraine withdraws its troops from Donbas.
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were initially expected to visit Kyiv before traveling to Moscow. Ukrainian officials had anticipated their arrival after Easter, but the trip was postponed several times. The negotiation process is currently on pause.
The last round of trilateral talks took place in mid-February, while another meeting planned for late February was canceled shortly before U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
