The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (State Emergency Service of Ukraine) released photos showing the aftermath of the strike.
Russian strike drones attacked oil and gas infrastructure in the Nizhyn and Pryluky districts of the Chernihiv Oblast overnight on May 20. Later in the morning, a kamikaze drone struck a recreational complex in the Baturyn community, causing destruction, destroying a vehicle, and triggering a fire. One person was reported injured, according to regional authorities.
Officials also reported additional attacks across the region:
- In Chernihiv city, two vehicles were damaged.
- In the Snovsk community, an FPV drone hit a forestry facility and a communications site.
- In a village in the Semenivka community, a “Lancet” drone strike damaged a former sawmill.
The previous day, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on the center of Pryluky, which resulted in fatalities and multiple injuries. Residential buildings, schools, and local enterprises were damaged.
