Explosions and fires were reported overnight on May 17 in Moscow and the surrounding region following a drone attack, with damage reported in the city of Zelenograd.
According to OSINT analysts from the ASTRA Telegram channel, one of the fires broke out on the grounds of the Elma technology park, which hosts companies involved in electronics, optics, information technology, and scientific research.
Monitoring channels also reported that facilities linked to Russia’s microelectronics industry may have been hit, including the Mikron semiconductor plant and possibly the Angstrem electronics manufacturer — both located in Zelenograd and associated with Russia’s defense sector.
Russian officials claimed that air defenses intercepted more than 100 drones headed toward Moscow over the past 24 hours.
Separately, drones reportedly targeted the Solnechnogorsk oil products loading station in the Moscow region.
Operations at Sheremetyevo International Airport were also temporarily suspended amid the attack.
