A Russian FPV drone struck a funeral procession on the outskirts of the city of Sumy, local officials said.
According to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, several people were injured and one victim was initially reported in critical condition and receiving emergency medical care.
The head of the city military administration, Serhii Kryvosheienko, later clarified that four people were injured. He said the attack was carried out using a fiber-optic FPV drone, which struck near the road as the funeral convoy was moving toward a cemetery.
Authorities later confirmed that the critically injured man died in hospital despite efforts by doctors to save his life. The identity of the deceased is still being established.
Officials said investigations into the circumstances of the strike are ongoing.
