General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the night of 14 May, Russia carried out a massive combined strike against Ukraine using drones and missiles.
According to the Air Force, a total of 731 aerial weapons were launched, including 56 missiles and 675 drones.
The strike included:
- 3 Kh-47 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles
- 18 Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles
- 35 Kh-101 cruise missiles
- 675 drones (including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and decoy drones)
Ukrainian air defenses reportedly neutralized 693 targets, including:
- 29 Kh-101 cruise missiles
- 12 Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles
- 652 drones of various types
The main target of the attack was the capital, Kyiv. Authorities confirmed impacts from 15 missiles and 23 drones across 24 locations, with debris falling in 18 additional areas.
Air defense units, aviation, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack. Officials warned that additional waves of drones continued to enter Ukrainian airspace during the night.
According to emergency services, in Kyiv alone, 31 people were injured and 1 person was killed. Damage was reported across several districts, including a residential building collapse in the Darnytskyi district.
An energy facility in the Chernihiv region was also hit, leaving more than 30,000 consumers temporarily without electricity.
