Russia launched 209 attack drones against Ukraine overnight on Tuesday, May 19, with air defenses intercepting or suppressing 180 of them, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The attack targeted northern, southern and eastern regions of the country. Ukrainian authorities confirmed 27 drone strikes across 15 locations, while debris from downed UAVs fell in five additional areas. Several enemy drones were still detected in the air as the attack continued.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities, though several people were injured.
In the Kyiv region, debris damaged a technical balcony of a residential high-rise building and two passenger cars in Brovary, regional governor Mykola Kalashnyk said.
Russian forces also launched more than 20 artillery and drone attacks across three districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring two people. In the Nikopol district, an administrative building and a private home were damaged, while a 22-year-old man was wounded. Infrastructure facilities came under attack in the Samar district, and private houses were damaged in the Kryvyi Rih district.
In Kherson, a Russian drone strike around 5 a.m. severely injured a 68-year-old man, leaving him hospitalized with traumatic injuries, including the loss of a leg.
Early in the morning, Russian drones also struck Kharkiv, damaging private homes. A 73-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction, a 47-year-old man was injured by shattered glass, and a 50-year-old woman also experienced severe stress. Authorities reported damage to 25 private houses and one apartment building.
The Odesa region was also targeted. In Izmail, drone strikes damaged port infrastructure, including a warehouse building where the roof and windows were hit. No casualties were reported there.
