The United States Embassy in Ukraine said it has received information about a possible large-scale Russian air attack that could occur “at any time within the next 24 hours.”
In an official statement, the embassy urged U.S. citizens in Ukraine to be prepared to immediately seek shelter if an air raid alert is announced. The warning applies to the entire territory of Ukraine.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian intelligence, together with American and European partners, had received indications that Russia may be preparing a new combined strike, potentially involving the “Oreshnik” missile system.
The embassy has issued similar alerts in the past ahead of several major Russian attacks on Ukraine, including strikes reportedly involving the Oreshnik missile.
One such warning was published on November 20, 2024, a day before a hypersonic ballistic missile attack on Dnipro. Another alert was issued before the January 9, 2026 strike on Lviv.
