Mykhailo Fedorov said that Ukraine is already capable of producing or operating missile systems with ranges comparable to Germany’s Taurus missile, or even greater, according to comments reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
Speaking during a briefing in Kyiv alongside German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Fedorov said Ukraine remains open to receiving additional long-range missiles but is increasingly developing its own capabilities.
“If we talk about Taurus, we already have missiles that operate at similar or even greater distances. But there can never be too many such strike capabilities,” he said.
He added that Ukraine is already achieving a degree of independence in this sector and recalled reported strikes reaching up to 1,500 km into Russian territory.
“Ukraine is doing its homework well,” Fedorov stated.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed a strike using “Flamingo” cruise missiles against the VNIIR Progress facility in Cheboksary, located around 1,500 km from Ukraine. The plant reportedly produces navigation and GNSS equipment used in Russian missile and drone systems.
Subsequent satellite imagery indicated significant damage to the site, with both missile and drone impacts reported on different buildings within the facility.
