Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian troops have for the first time surpassed Russian forces in the number of offensive actions carried out within a single day.
In an interview with Militarnyi, Syrskyi stated that the intensity of Russian assaults has recently declined, while Ukrainian forces have become more active in launching counterattacks and offensive operations along the frontline.
“For the first time, the number of our offensive actions exceeded the number of enemy offensive actions during the day,” Syrskyi said, referring to one recent 24-hour period.
According to him, Ukrainian counteroffensive and assault operations outnumbered those conducted by Russian troops. At the same time, he warned against underestimating the enemy, stressing that Russian forces remain strong.
Syrskyi also recalled earlier battlefield gains by Ukrainian troops. He noted that in February Ukrainian forces managed to retake more territory than Russian troops captured during the same period.
Previously, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces had liberated up to 435 square kilometers of territory in the south of the country. Syrskyi additionally reported recent successes on the Oleksandrivskyi front, one of the most active combat areas.
