Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered Ukraine’s Defense Forces and intelligence services to develop response options after Russia’s massive strikes.
At a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, Zelenskyy said the attacks on May 13–14 lasted nearly two days and involved 1,567 drones and 56 missiles. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 94% of drones and 73% of missiles.
He stressed that ballistic threats and protection of critical infrastructure remain the main challenges, and instructed the military leadership to strengthen air defense capabilities, particularly radar supply and anti-ballistic systems.
Zelenskyy also confirmed ongoing rescue operations in Kyiv after a residential building was heavily damaged, with casualties reported and several people still missing.
