Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that, in addition to Sense Bank, Ukrgasbank has been identified as a priority candidate for privatization, with preparatory work already underway.

She noted that the Ministry of Finance, together with the National Bank and other institutions, has been tasked with assessing the governance effectiveness of Sense Bank and accelerating its sale, which is expected in 2026. кадрові рішення may also follow if necessary.

Ukrgasbank, nationalized during the 2008–2009 financial crisis, is now also moving toward privatization as part of broader efforts to reduce the state’s role in the banking sector. Sense Bank, meanwhile, was nationalized after Russia’s full-scale invasion due to links between its former owners and the aggressor state.

The announcement comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the banking sector, including criticism from Danylo Hetmantsev over regulatory oversight issues and wider reforms targeting financial transparency and the gambling industry.
