Trump confirms “successful operation” in Venezuela: Maduro captured and removed.

The United States has successfully carried out a large-scale operation in Venezuela. President Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, was captured and taken out of the country.

US President Donald Trump announced the news on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“The United States of America has successfully conducted a large-scale operation against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who, along with his wife, was captured and removed from the country,” Trump wrote.

According to him, the operation was carried out in coordination with US law enforcement agencies. More details will be released later. He also stated that a press conference on the Venezuela operation will be held today at 11:00 a.m. US time (17:00 Kyiv time) at Mar-a-Lago. CBS News reports that Maduro was captured by Delta Force, the US military’s elite special operations unit.

US operation against Venezuela

Earlier on January 3, the United States launched a series of strikes on Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, where explosions were reported. In response, President Maduro declared martial law in the country.

Local media reported that US strikes targeted the Venezuelan parliament building and the home of Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López. Attacks may also have hit southern parts of Caracas, including Fort Tiuna and the Francisco de Miranda Air Base. At least ten sites in the capital were reportedly affected.

Reports also indicate strikes on the La Guaira naval base in Vargas state, where the naval academy is located, as well as hits on the port of Caracas and Margarita Island in the Caribbean, which hosts a significant portion of Venezuela’s military infrastructure.
