Ukraine names delegation for trilateral talks in UAE on January 23.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine’s full negotiation team will travel to the United Arab Emirates for the trilateral meeting with the U.S. and Russia on January 23. The delegation includes:
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President
Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council
Serhiy Kyslytsia, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office
David Arakhamia, Head of the “Servant of the People” faction
Zelenskyy also noted that the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Hnatov, has already departed from Kyiv to participate in the talks.
“Military presence is necessary. Yes, this will be a trilateral meeting at the negotiator level. We will see what results it brings,” Zelenskyy said.
The president added that the meeting will last two days.
Earlier today, Zelenskyy arrived in Davos and held a roughly one-hour meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he described as “very successful.” Meanwhile, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow tomorrow, before heading to the UAE to work at the “working group” level.
