Nutritionists have recommended several breakfast options that help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
Experts emphasize that controlling glucose levels requires foods rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats, as these nutrients slow digestion and prevent sharp spikes in blood sugar. Some suggested breakfasts include:
- Tofu with spinach, avocado, and greens – provides plant-based protein and fiber.
- Whole-grain toast with almond butter, berries, and chia seeds – supplies fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats.
- Greek yogurt with berries and cinnamon – rich in protein and probiotics.
- Overnight oats – high in soluble fiber (beta-glucan), which may reduce insulin resistance and support steady blood sugar.
- Vegetable bowls with protein and healthy fats – for example, eggs with vegetables and olive oil, which help keep you full longer and stabilize glucose levels.
Experts note that a balanced breakfast containing around 8–10 g of fiber can help regulate blood sugar throughout the day.
Research also shows that both what you eat and when you eat can affect sleep quality and duration.
