The Ukrainian government is preparing a large-scale financial assistance package for Vyshneve, Kyiv region, following the Russian attack on July 6.
According to Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, the Cabinet has instructed the relevant ministries to urgently prepare a decision to allocate ₴3.04 billion from the state reserve fund.
The funding will primarily be used to support residents whose homes were destroyed or damaged during the attack. The program will include compensation for homeowners as well as reconstruction of the most severely affected residential buildings.
Part of the funding will also be directed toward major repairs of apartment buildings and the restoration of damaged utility infrastructure.
Damage assessment
The Russian strike on Vyshneve has been described as one of the most destructive attacks on the Kyiv region.
According to preliminary assessments:
- 253 private houses were damaged;
- 27 apartment buildings sustained damage;
- 1,692 windows were shattered in multi-storey residential buildings;
- authorities also received 65 claims from businesses whose property was affected.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Security Service of Ukraine and Ukraine’s intelligence agencies to establish all the circumstances surrounding the explosions in Vyshneve.
