Kyiv residents could face temporary power outages on Tuesday, June 30, as energy providers have published preliminary electricity restriction schedules.
According to information released by DTEK, planned outages may take place during the evening, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., though not all consumers will be affected.
The provisional schedule includes two time slots:
- 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (up to 3.5 hours without electricity)
- 7:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. (up to 3.5 hours without electricity)
Some addresses may experience shorter outages, including periods from 4:00–5:00 p.m. or 7:00–8:00 p.m., lasting up to two hours.
Residents can check whether their address is included in the schedule on the DTEK website. Energy companies also warn that the timetable may change depending on conditions in Ukraine’s power system.
According to Yasno and Ukrenergo, electricity consumption has surged due to the ongoing heatwave, with widespread use of air conditioning placing additional strain on the grid. At the same time, the energy system continues operating under wartime conditions, while part of the infrastructure remains under repair following previous Russian attacks.
Similar precautionary schedules have also been announced in several other regions, including Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ivano-Frankivsk and Volyn regions.
In most areas, planned outages are expected to last around one hour, while consumers in the Kirovohrad region may experience restrictions of up to two hours. A preliminary schedule has also been published for the Kyiv region.
Energy officials urge consumers to use high-power electrical appliances between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., when solar power generation is at its peak, and to reduce electricity consumption as much as possible during the evening peak period from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
