Ukrainians continue to receive pensions and other social benefits. Pensioners who reach certain age thresholds are entitled to additional monthly payments.

According to Tetiana Korol, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), age-based pension supplements are available to eligible retirees.

Who qualifies for the age supplement?

Pensioners whose monthly pension does not exceed UAH 10,340 may receive an additional payment after reaching the following ages:

  • From age 70UAH 300 per month;
  • From age 75UAH 456 per month;
  • From age 80UAH 570 per month.

How the payment works

The Pension Fund notes that these supplements do not accumulate. When a pensioner moves into the next age category, the previous supplement is replaced by the higher one rather than added to it.

The supplement begins to accrue from the day the pensioner reaches the qualifying age (70, 75, or 80). As a result, the payment for the first month may be lower than the full amount because it is calculated proportionally based on the number of eligible days in that month.

Earlier, the Pension Fund also reminded Ukrainians that certain pensioners may qualify for an additional care allowance, subject to the relevant eligibility criteria.
