The Romanian Ministry of National Defense confirmed that at least two Russian drones entered the country’s airspace during attacks on Ukraine.

The first drone was detected after 6 a.m. Tuesday near Tulcea County. At 06:28, two NATO Eurofighter Typhoon jets were scrambled from a Romanian base to monitor the situation, and local residents received alerts. The drone entered Romanian airspace from the direction of Vylkove and remained there for 16 minutes. At 07:37, Romania dispatched additional aircraft, and at 07:50 radar detected a second drone entering the national airspace.

“An F-16 had radar contact with it,” the ministry said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that four drones entered the airspace of Romania and Moldova.

“Every day we must save lives. Weapons and air defense are vital, as is maintaining sanctions pressure on the aggressor,” he added.

Moldova’s border police also confirmed the violation of its airspace. A drone entered near Vulcănești and later crossed into Romania.

According to Ukrainian Air Forces, on the night of November 25, Russia attacked Ukraine with 22 missiles and 464 drones of various types. Ukrainian defenses intercepted or neutralized 452 aerial targets, including 14 missiles.
