Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed former Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev as Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, where he will oversee economic policy and lead preparations for Ukraine's post-war recovery.
Announcing the appointment on Telegram, Zelensky said Sobolev will coordinate work with international partners on developing a comprehensive recovery strategy for the country after the war.
The president stressed that maintaining economic stability, supporting Ukrainian businesses and preserving jobs remain among the government's key priorities. He added that the recovery plan should be developed jointly by the government, the Presidential Office, local authorities, businesses, academics and civil society.
Sobolev's appointment comes after a recent government reshuffle, which saw a new Cabinet approved and Oleksandr Kravchenko take over the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
