An explosion occurred on the evening of August 1 at the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant in central Moscow, located on Kudrinskaya Square near Barrikadnaya metro station.
According to preliminary reports from the Russian Telegram channel Baza, at least three people were killed and 21 others were injured, with 17 reportedly in serious condition.
The explosion occurred in the restaurant's guest area, after which a fire broke out inside the building. Russian media reported that the blaze was classified as a third-level emergency.
Emergency services, firefighters, police officers and ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene, while parts of Kudrinskaya Square were temporarily cordoned off.
According to open-source information, the restaurant was closed to regular customers at the time of the explosion, as a private banquet was reportedly taking place.
Local chat channels claimed that a Russian general was among those attending the event, although this information has not been independently confirmed.
Other reports suggested that a wedding for around 50 people was being held at Balzi Rossi when the explosion occurred.
