Seven victims are still in hospital.

As a result of the shooting in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district on April 18, the death toll has risen to seven. A 62-year-old man who sustained a severe gunshot wound died in hospital, said Tetiana Mostepan, Director of the Health Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, during an appearance on “Kyiv24”.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, six injured adults and one child remain in medical facilities. Four of the wounded are in intensive care. The mother of the teenager has regained consciousness.

As a reminder, a few days ago in the Holosiivskyi district, a man opened fire on people on a street. After shooting passersby, he barricaded himself inside a shop, took hostages, and fired at law enforcement officers. Special forces of the KORD unit later neutralized the attacker.

Following the incident, it became known that two police officers fled the scene of the shooting, leaving a child in danger. A criminal investigation has been launched into their actions.
