Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh claimed her second consecutive Continental Tour gold medal, continuing her dominant run in the 2026 season.

Competing at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting in Zagreb, Croatia, Mahuchikh cleared 1.97 meters to secure victory. She successfully cleared 1.90 m and 1.95 m before overcoming 1.97 m on her third attempt, which proved enough to top the podium.

Australia’s Eleanor Patterson and Serbia’s Angelina Topić shared second place after both cleared 1.95 m.

After securing the win, Mahuchikh raised the bar to 2.01 m, but was unable to clear the height. Fellow Ukrainian Iryna Herashchenko finished ninth with a best mark of 1.85 m.

The victory marks Mahuchikh’s third consecutive outdoor win and her seventh tournament victory of the year across both indoor and outdoor competitions.

The World Athletics Continental Tour is the second-highest level of one-day athletics meetings, ranking just below the Diamond League.

The 24-year-old Ukrainian star is the reigning Olympic champion after winning gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics and remains the world record holder in the women’s high jump with her historic 2.10 m clearance in 2024.
