Ukraine’s junior artistic gymnastics team delivered an impressive performance in the apparatus finals at the European Junior Championships in Zagreb, winning four medals — two gold, one silver and one bronze.
Havrylchenko wins vault gold
Eighteen-year-old Ukrainian gymnast Valentyn Havrylchenko produced the best performance in the vault final.
He scored 13.616 points to take first place and become European junior champion. Austria’s Samuel Wachter won silver, while Switzerland’s Ben Schumacher took bronze.
Holovin wins a full set of medals
Fifteen-year-old Volodymyr Holovin became one of the tournament’s leading medalists, collecting gold, silver and bronze in different events.
He won the pommel horse with a score of 13.900 points. Holovin also took silver on the parallel bars with 14.000 points and bronze in the floor exercise with 13.166 points.
All-around final ahead
On Sunday, August 23, the Ukrainian gymnasts will continue competing for medals in the European Championships.
Havrylchenko and Holovin will both take part in the junior all-around final.
Ukraine’s men’s gymnastics team has also recently qualified for the 2026 World Championships for the first time in three years.
