Russian attack drones struck Kharkiv and Dnipro overnight on July 12, hitting civilian infrastructure, sparking fires, and injuring several people, according to Ukrainian officials.

In Kharkiv, Shahed drones hit multiple districts of the city. One of the strikes targeted a site in the Shevchenkivskyi district, while another hit the Kyivskyi district, where a fire broke out.

Officials later reported that more than 20 residential buildings were damaged in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A garage complex caught fire in the Kyivskyi district, and three people sought medical assistance.

According to updated information, two residents, including a 16-year-old girl, were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district. All received medical treatment.

Additional drone strikes were recorded in the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts, though no casualties were reported there.

In Dnipro, a Russian drone struck a food industry enterprise. Emergency services responded to the scene, while authorities assessed the extent of the damage. Preliminary reports indicated there were no casualties.

Ukraine's Air Force had warned overnight of Russian drones heading toward both cities before explosions were reported at around 3:14 a.m. local time.

The attacks came a day after a Russian strike on Sumy, where the death toll later rose to five after a seriously injured victim died in hospital.
