Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held another meeting with senior military commanders to discuss preparations for potential Russian operations in northern Ukraine, counter-drone measures and strengthening frontline air defenses.

According to Zelenskyy, the meeting was attended by acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, and commanders of the 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th and 21st Army Corps, as well as the 30th Marine Corps.

The commanders briefed the president on the situation in their respective sectors, Russian military activity, assessments of Moscow's plans and Ukraine's capabilities to respond.

A separate part of the discussion focused on the defense of Kherson, Nikopol and other communities in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as efforts to counter Russian drones, improve military logistics and reinforce frontline air defenses.

Zelenskyy said commanders also presented preparations for various scenarios on the Chernihiv-Kyiv axis, taking into account intelligence assessments and what he described as Russia's continued efforts to expand and prolong the war.

The meeting also covered additional air defense requirements and the next steps in Ukraine's ongoing military corps reform.

The talks are part of a series of consultations Zelenskyy has held in recent days with Ukraine's military leadership on the situation along the front line. Earlier, he met with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatiuk, and Joint Forces Commander Mykhailo Drapatyi.

On July 20, Zelenskyy also convened a special meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff that, for the first time in this format, brought together corps commanders, government officials and Ukrainian defense industry representatives.
