In Finland, officials believe that the reality of future peace will fall far short of ideal.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that conditions for a just peace in Ukraine are unlikely to be met, Politico reports.

“The reality is that peace can be good, bad, or a compromise. And the reality is also that we, the Finns, must prepare for the moment when peace comes, and that all the conditions for a just peace, which we have talked about so much over the past four years, are unlikely to materialize,” Stubb said. He added that “today we are closer to peace than yesterday,” and that the coming days and weeks will show whether the negotiations will yield any results.

Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said at a NATO foreign ministers meeting that Europe will soon be informed about the latest peace talks between U.S. and Russian representatives, but “obviously, last night in Moscow, it was not possible to reach a broad consensus.”
