Two explosions occurred in Bucha, near Kyiv, on the morning of Monday, March 23, injuring two police officers.
According to Kyiv Regional Military Administration head Mykola Kalashnyk, the first blast took place near an apartment building, damaging window glass. A second explosion occurred shortly afterward in the same area.
As a result of the second blast, two law enforcement officers were injured. They were hospitalized with moderate injuries and are not in life-threatening condition. Further treatment is expected to be outpatient.
“All necessary emergency services are working at the scene — police, bomb disposal units, and rescue teams. The area has been cordoned off, and a search is underway for additional explosive devices,” Kalashnyk said.
He urged residents to remain cautious and not approach or attempt to move any suspicious or unknown objects.
The National Police of Ukraine reported that the first call about the explosion came at 05:35 from a local resident whose windows were damaged by the blast wave.
Police, State Emergency Service units, and bomb technicians were dispatched immediately and acted under protocols for a potential terrorist threat, warning residents about the risk of further explosions.
The second blast occurred while officers were working at the scene.
