New meetings to take place next week

A two-day trilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia concluded several hours ago in Abu Dhabi. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had received a report from the Ukrainian delegation on the results of the talks and stressed that the discussions in the UAE “were constructive.”

The head of state noted that military officials were present at the trilateral negotiations.

Zelenskyy said the Ukrainian delegation included: Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitskyi, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Serhii Kyslytsia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov, and Servant of the People faction leader Davyd Arakhamia.

The U.S. side was represented by: U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, U.S. President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Alexus Grynkewich, U.S. Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll, and Commissioner of the U.S. General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service Josh Gruenbaum.

Russia was represented by officials from the army and military intelligence.

Zelenskyy said the main issue discussed at the trilateral meeting was the possible parameters for ending the war.

“I highly value the awareness of the need for American monitoring and oversight of the process of ending the war and ensuring real security,” he added.

The president noted that the United States raised the issue of possible formats for establishing the parameters of the war’s conclusion and what security conditions would be required for this.

Zelenskyy also said that the American, Russian and Ukrainian sides agreed to brief their respective capitals on each aspect of the talks and to coordinate the next steps with their leaders.
