Cristiano Ronaldo aims for 1,000-goal milestone before retiring at 42
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese forward for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, plans to retire after the 2026/27 season at the age of 42, according to insider Ben Jacobs.
Ronaldo and the club will not be extending his contract beyond 2027. The only major goal left for the 40-year-old star is to reach 1,000 career goals—he currently has 960 to his name.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022 and extended his contract last summer until 2027.
The Portuguese legend enjoyed his prime years at Real Madrid, where he won La Liga twice, the Champions League four times, and numerous other trophies. Over his career, he has claimed the Ballon d’Or five times.
With Portugal, Ronaldo lifted the UEFA Euro 2016 title and the UEFA Nations League trophy.
