Agents of the Atesh military movement, which represents Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, said they had sabotaged an electrical substation in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in Russia’s Rostov region.
In a post on its Telegram channel, the partisan movement said a switchgear cabinet at the substation had been damaged. According to Atesh, the facility supplies electricity to the Kamensky Combine, a plant that is part of Russia’s military-industrial complex.
The plant manufactures solid rocket propellant for the Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket systems, as well as other missile and aviation systems.
Atesh said the damage to the distribution equipment could disrupt the plant’s operations and require additional time to repair. The movement added that incidents of this kind interrupt production and force workers to focus on restoring equipment rather than manufacturing products.
Such targeted actions behind Russian lines can also complicate transportation and the operations of enterprises supplying the Russian military, Atesh said. The movement stated that it would continue identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in infrastructure supporting Russia’s war effort.
“Putin does not plan to stop the war despite enormous losses and is conducting covert mobilization. The Russian army and Putin’s regime must be stopped for the common good,” the partisans said.
In early October, Atesh agents claimed to have disabled a communications tower near the village of Pidhirne in the Rossoshansky district of Russia’s Voronezh region. Russian forces had installed an electronic warfare (EW) system at the site, according to the movement.
Atesh said the destruction of the facility significantly reduced Russian forces’ ability to monitor the area and jam signals. It also weakened local defenses and left an important route used to transport military cargo without protection, the movement claimed.
