Ukraine’s Defense Forces have destroyed an Iskander-M missile launcher in Russia’s Kursk region, reducing Russia’s ability to launch ballistic strikes against Ukrainian cities.
Ukraine’s General Staff reported the strike on Telegram.
On October 29 and overnight into October 30, Ukrainian Defense Forces units also struck several other Russian military targets.
The reported targets included:
- An Iskander-M tactical ballistic missile system launcher near a ballistic missile transshipment area in the vicinity of Fatezh, Kursk region, Russia.
- Russian army ammunition depots near the settlements of Maloyanysol in Donetsk region, Novoyehorivka in Kharkiv region and Hanusivka in Luhansk region.
- A Russian military logistics depot near Bilovodsk, Luhansk region.
- An enemy repair unit near Rubizhne, Luhansk region.
- A Russian repair and recovery base near Pysarivka, Luhansk region.
The General Staff said that every destroyed Iskander-M launcher reduces the Russian military’s capacity to carry out ballistic attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Strikes on repair units make it harder for Russian forces to restore damaged equipment and return it to the front line, while the loss of ammunition depots reduces their firepower.
On October 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said Ukraine had carried out two missile strikes that destroyed two Russian fighter jets and hit an Iskander launcher.
