Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on October 29 with 112 strike drones launched from three directions. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the drones, but strikes were recorded at several locations, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The attack involved Shahed drones, including 40 jet-powered models, Gerbera drones and Parody-type decoy drones. They were launched from the directions of Oryol and Millerovo in Russia and Russian-occupied Donetsk region.
Ukrainian aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups took part in repelling the attack.
Preliminary data as of 8 a.m. showed that Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 97 enemy drones, including 30 jet-powered Shaheds, as well as Gerbera and other types of drones.
Impacts were recorded at seven locations, while debris from downed drones fell at five locations.
Kharkiv was also attacked by Russian strike drones overnight. At least two districts of the city reported damage, including a strike on an educational institution that sparked a fire.
