Ukrainian forces struck the Kamensky plant in Russia’s Rostov region overnight on October 31. A warehouse storing finished products caught fire, and four production workshops were damaged, Ukraine’s General Staff reported.
The operation involved Ukrainian strike drones and Naval Forces missile units, including Neptune coastal missile systems.
According to the General Staff, a fire broke out at the facility’s finished-product warehouse. Four production workshops were also damaged.
The Kamensky plant specializes in manufacturing solid rocket fuel. The fuel is used in munitions for Russia’s Uragan, Smerch and Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket systems, as well as several missile systems and air-launched weapons.
Strikes on facilities of this kind could affect the Russian military’s ability to supply its forces with relevant munitions, including rockets used to shell Ukrainian settlements.
Other Russian military facilities targeted
In addition to the plant in the Rostov region, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck four Russian military logistics warehouses.
According to the General Staff, the facilities were located in:
Khartsyzk and Dokuchaievsk in Donetsk region;
Novovasylivka in Zaporizhzhia region;
Novoaidar in Luhansk region.
“Exercising the right to self-defense guaranteed by Article 51 of the UN Charter, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to systematically take measures aimed at undermining the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor and compelling Russia to end its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff said.
Ukraine is also working to extend the range of its strikes and expand units carrying out long-range attacks on Russian territory.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Ukrainian missiles and drones can already reach Russian facilities across a vast area stretching from Yamal to Western Siberia.
