Israel has counted 97.3% of ballots in its parliamentary election. The bloc supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leading, but neither political camp has secured enough seats to form a government.
The Times of Israel reported the figures.
With 97.3% of ballots counted, the seat distribution in the Knesset is as follows:
- Likud — 27 seats (+1)
- Yashar — 21 seats
- Beyachad — 12 seats
- Joint List — 11 seats
- The Democrats — 8 seats
- Ra’am — 8 seats
- Yisrael Beiteinu — 7 seats
- Otzma Yehudit — 7 seats
- United Torah Judaism — 7 seats
- Shas — 6 seats (-1)
- Religious Zionism and Zehut — 6 seats
Distribution by political bloc
Neither camp has won a majority. At least 61 of the Knesset’s 120 seats are required to form a government.
The current distribution is:
- Netanyahu’s governing coalition, led by Likud — 53 seats
- The opposition’s bloc of change — 48 seats
- Joint List — 11 seats
- Ra’am — 8 seats
The final results could change slightly as the remaining ballots are counted, including votes cast by military personnel and diplomats.
Israel held its parliamentary election on October 27. Initial exit polls gave the opposition a narrow lead, but updated figures suggested Netanyahu’s bloc could draw level with its rivals or pull ahead by two seats.
Voter turnout reached 77.7%, the highest level since 1999.
