US President Donald Trump said he would invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the G20 summit in Miami, adding that he saw no problem with his attendance.

Trump’s remarks were reported by Rapid Response 47 on X.

Asked by reporters whether he would invite Zelenskyy to the summit, given that the United States had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump gave a brief answer.

“I would... yes, I’d be happy to. No problem,” the US president said.

On October 31, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Zelenskyy’s attendance would depend on whether Trump invited him. At the time, Rubio said no final decision had been made.

The G20 summit is scheduled to take place in Miami on December 14–15. The United States invited Putin to the event in September, raising the possibility of a meeting between Trump and the Russian leader.

Zelenskyy subsequently proposed meeting Putin on the sidelines of the summit, but the Kremlin leader rejected the offer. Trump recently said he did not know whether Putin would agree to a trilateral meeting in Miami.

Rubio has also indicated that Trump and Putin could meet within the next few weeks. The talks could potentially take place on the sidelines of the APEC summit in China on November 18–19.

Trump recently announced that he expected to meet with both Zelenskyy and Putin, but did not specify when the meetings would take place or whether they would be held jointly or separately.
