Ukraine has struck the Kamensky chemical plant in Russia’s Rostov region, a facility involved in producing missiles for Russia’s defense industry, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
“Our long-range sanctions have reached the Rostov region. The Kamensky plant has been hit — an enterprise of Russia’s defense industry involved in missile production,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
He also said Ukrainian forces struck a Pantsir-S2 air defense system and a command-and-staff vehicle belonging to the S-400 Triumph system. Zelenskyy estimated the combined value of the damaged air defense assets at approximately $70 million.
He thanked Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) and other Defense Forces units for carrying out the strikes, saying Ukraine was defending itself against Russian aggression and working to reduce Russia’s ability to continue the war.
The General Staff previously reported that Ukrainian forces struck the Kamensky plant overnight on Oct. 31 using attack drones and Neptune missiles. A warehouse containing finished products caught fire, while four production workshops were damaged.
Ukraine is also working to extend the range of its strikes and expand the units responsible for long-range attacks on Russian territory.
