The next round of negotiations involving delegations from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia is scheduled for February 1 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Axios reported this, citing sources familiar with the diplomatic contacts.

According to the outlet, the visit to the UAE included not only trilateral consultations but also separate direct meetings between Ukrainian and Russian representatives without U.S. participation. This indicates that the sides are using multiple diplomatic formats to advance the переговорний process. One U.S. official said the leaders’ willingness to engage in talks shows a desire to achieve practical results.

“Positive and constructive” assessments

U.S. officials described the Abu Dhabi talks as productive. Ukrainian representatives also told Axios that the meetings were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere.

Axios notes that these consultations marked a new phase of U.S. mediation efforts aimed at finding ways to end the war. Advisers to U.S. President Donald Trump plan to focus on narrowing differences on the most sensitive issues, particularly territorial control in eastern Ukraine.

Following the talks, the delegations agreed to brief their respective leaderships on the results and coordinate next steps. Military experts also compiled a list of topics that could form the basis of the next meeting.
