Poland will transfer up to nine of its outdated MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in exchange for drone technologies developed in Ukraine.

Poland’s Deputy Minister of Defense Paweł Zalewski said this in an interview with TVP World.

When asked whether Ukraine had agreed to accept Poland’s proposal, Zalewski noted that a formal response from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense is still pending.

“I believe the Ukrainians have decided to accept this offer. Of course, there are some technical aspects that, as always, still need to be clarified,” he said.

Zalewski added that the parties are currently coordinating the technical details of the MiG transfer, including logistics and maintenance.
