Trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia aimed at ending the war could take place on November 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told The Sun.

The negotiations were initially scheduled for the end of next month, but Zelenskyy said the meeting could be held as early as November 10.

The president said Kyiv wanted the talks to begin as soon as possible and had proposed holding a meeting this Sunday. However, Ukraine decided to wait until voting in the United States was over.

The summit is expected to be led by the US delegation in Abu Dhabi. It would be the first in-person round of talks since US President Donald Trump eased sanctions against Russia.

On Tuesday, October 27, the leaders of Finland and Norway called Russian President Vladimir Putin to urge him to end the war in Ukraine.

Before the call, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held consultations with Ukraine to convey Kyiv’s position on the planned peace talks in Abu Dhabi.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk later said the trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia were tentatively scheduled for November 4 in the United Arab Emirates.

Zelenskyy has also said Ukraine would like to meet with US and Russian representatives in Abu Dhabi before planned joint talks involving the United States, China and Russia.
