Ten strike drones hit targets as Russia launched nearly 100 UAVs at Ukraine.
On the night of January 22 (from 6:00 p.m. on January 21), Russia attacked Ukraine using 94 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera drones, and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.
The drones were launched from the Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk directions in Russia, as well as from Cape Chauda and the village of Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea. About 55 of the drones used were Shahed-type UAVs.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 9:00 a.m., air defenses neutralized 80 enemy UAVs.
Direct hits by 10 strike drones were recorded at 10 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at four other locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukraine’s airspace. The Air Force urged civilians to follow safety rules.
