In Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, Ukrainian troops continue to “clear” the area of Russian forces who are hiding in residential neighborhoods in the city center, said Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group, in a comment to Suspilne.
The Russian army is still attempting to break into the settlement from the north in order to reinforce the number of its soldiers in the city, but without success. “When the last few dozen Russians are either destroyed or taken prisoner, the situation will move completely in the opposite direction,” Trehubov added.
On January 12, fighters of the “Khartia” brigade in Kupiansk established control over the city council building.
The occupiers are changing into civilian clothing in order to blend in within the city.
