Russian forces struck a power facility in Ukraine’s Odesa region on Wednesday morning, January 21, causing significant damage and leaving several thousand residents without electricity, DTEK Odesa Power Grids reported.
According to energy workers, key equipment at the facility was heavily damaged, meaning repair work will take a considerable amount of time. No casualties were reported at the site of the energy facility.
Emergency repair crews have already begun response efforts. Specialists are first inspecting the damaged infrastructure and clearing debris before proceeding with restoration work.
Overnight, the Russian army carried out a large-scale drone attack on southern parts of the Odesa region using Shahed-type UAVs. As a result, a 50-year-old man was injured. In the Odesa district, several private homes were damaged and a furniture warehouse was destroyed.
