Russian forces launched a nighttime attack on Ukraine using a ballistic missile and more than 100 drones, with Ukraine’s air defense units intercepting and repelling many of the threats, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Air Forces Telegram channel.
The strike included:
One Iskander-M ballistic missile from Rostov Oblast, Russia;
126 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others, launched from directions such as Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia, and from Hvardiyske – temporarily occupied Crimea.
Around 80 of the drones were Shahed types. The air assault was countered by:
- Aviation units;
- Surface-to-air missile troops;
- Electronic warfare and drone units;
- Mobile fire groups.
By 08:00 local time, 117 enemy drones had been shot down or suppressed. Despite this, the ballistic missile and 8 strike drones hit 7 locations, and debris from destroyed drones fell at 5 other locations.
The Air Forces warned that some enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace and urged civilians to follow safety rules.

March 12: A drone strike in Chernihiv region killed a 15-year-old girl and injured her parents.
March 11: Russia struck Zaporizhzhia with KAB precision-guided bombs, injuring 10 people, including two children.
Russian drones also attacked a bus in the Dnipro district of Kherson, leaving 20 people wounded, including a teenager.
