On March 24, Russian forces struck the center of Lviv with a drone, damaging historic areas that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage, according to local authorities.
Lviv regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi reported a direct hit in the city center, noting that UNESCO-listed heritage sites were affected. Mayor Andrii Sadovyi confirmed damage to a residential building and said emergency services were deployed immediately.
Casualties and damage
At least two people were seriously injured, with medical teams providing urgent care.
Additional impacts were reported:
- another drone hit a residential building in the Sykhiv district (Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue)
- debris fell near Bandera Street
Authorities warned that the threat remains high, with additional drones detected heading toward the city at the time.
