On the night of March 21, Russia attacked Ukraine with 154 strike drones launched from five directions. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down most of the hostile UAVs.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on March 20 until the morning of March 21, Russian forces launched 154 attack drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other UAVs, from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Around 90 of the drones were Shaheds. The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:30 a.m., air defenses shot down or suppressed 148 enemy drones.
Hits by five strike drones were recorded at four locations, while debris from downed drones fell at seven locations.
“The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in the airspace. Follow safety rules,” the Air Force warned.
Attacks on Ukraine
Earlier, on the night of March 21, a Russian drone struck a private house in Zaporizhzhia, killing two people and injuring two children.
On the night of March 20, Russian forces also attacked several regions of Ukraine with strike drones. Most targets were intercepted by air defenses.
At the same time, 19 drone hits were recorded across 13 locations, along with debris falling at seven locations.
In particular, Russian forces attacked a port in Odesa region with drones. Two civilian commercial vessels flying the flags of Palau and Barbados were damaged while docked and loaded with grain.
Administrative buildings were also damaged, and two people were injured.
