A fire broke out overnight on September 17 at the Rostov-on-Don–Centralny military airfield following a reported Ukrainian drone attack, according to the Astra OSINT project.
Local residents posted footage showing a large fire. OSINT analysts identified one of the reported fire sites near an area used for aircraft parking.
Google satellite imagery indicates that military aircraft and helicopters may have been stationed at the site.
Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed that a fire had broken out on the ground, but did not specify the location or provide details about possible damage.
According to Slyusar, there were no casualties.
A drone-threat alert had been declared in Rostov-on-Don during the night before reports of the fire emerged.
