Russian forces carried out a large-scale overnight strike on Ukraine on March 24, using 426 aerial attack assets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Scale of the attack
The assault included:
- 7 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M / S-400)
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles
- 4 guided air-launched missiles (Kh-59/69/31)
- 392 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types
Air defense results
Ukrainian forces intercepted or suppressed 390 targets, including:
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles
- 5 Iskander-K missiles
- 2 guided air missiles
- 365 drones
Air defenses involved aviation, missile units, electronic warfare, drone units, and mobile fire groups.
Confirmed impacts
Despite the high interception rate, there were:
- 6 missile hits
- 27 drone strikes
- impacts recorded across 22 locations
- debris from downed targets fell in 10 additional areas
Data on three missiles is still being уточнено, and several hostile drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.
Casualties and damage
In Poltava and the surrounding region:
- 2 people were killed
- 7 injured, including a child
- residential buildings, a hotel, and industrial facilities were damaged
In Zaporizhzhia:
- 1 person was killed
- 9 injured
- damage reported to apartment buildings, private homes, commercial and industrial sites
Authorities warn that the attack may still be ongoing and urge civilians to follow air raid safety guidelines.
